Dr. Ajesh Raj Saksena, the best cancer specialist in Hyderabad, is a practicing cancer surgeon with over 12 years of surgical experience. After graduating from the prestigious Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad (MBBS and Master’s in General Surgery), he completed his Doctorate of National Board (DrNB) in Surgical Oncology from Omega Hospital Hyderabad. During this period, he visited Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York, and Adyar Cancer Institute, Chennai, for observation and learning.
Following his training, he has worked as a Senior Resident at the Department of Surgical Oncology, MNJ Institute of Oncology & Regional Cancer Center, Hyderabad and gained further expertise working as a Consultant Surgical Oncologist at Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, Hyderabad.
Currently he is working as Consultant Surgical Oncology & Minimal Access Surgeon at Apollo Cancer Institute, Apollo Health City, Jubilee hills, Hyderabad.
Dr. Ajesh has been actively involved in the treatment of various cancers. He has a particular interest in Gastrointestinal, Gynecological, and Breast cancers. He holds expertise in performing complex oncological procedures, organ-preserving cancer surgeries, sentinel lymph node biopsies, and fluorescence-guided cancer surgeries using the latest technologies to provide the best cancer care.
He is the recipient of the “Young Scholar Award” at the 11th Annual International conference of the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASICON 2020).
He has co-authored publications in various national and international journals. He has been a co-investigator for various institutional and multi-centric studies.
His current field of interest is in performing advanced minimal access surgeries for various thoracic and abdominal cancers including peritoneal surface malignancies and advanced pelvic tumors. His work also involves vast experience treating advanced malignancies, including aggressive cytoreductive surgeries and en-bloc resections for complex tumors.
Being a 3rd generation doctor from a family of Physicians, he is also involved in various philanthropic activities. Through Sarvodaya Foundation & Deccan Foundation, he aims to help the underserved people and their families get the correct information and access to experts in the medical field. He also works towards rural empowerment & education.
